Lift Your Paddle and Go with the FLOW

Going with the Flow is Easy
A few years ago our family had the pleasure of staying near a lovely river. We spent most of the weekend on the river, paddling in and out of shallow bogs, through fast and slow currents and then to an island for a picnic.
I was sharing a canoe with my daughter and son and we noticed when we were going against the current we had to work so hard…and then when we were ALLOWing the current to pull us along it was so easy.
This was when we lifted our paddles up high…celebrating the ease of this part of the journey.
When I feel like I am paddling upstream in Niagara Falls I always think back to that weekend and wonder if Life has to be that hard..ever!
What if I just let go, and ALLOWed, letting what is supposed to happen to happen when it is the right time, not when I think it needs to happen.
As I was preparing the post for today this poem appeared…from back in 2010.
Did I write this? Did someone else write it for me? Did I copy it from somewhere?
I am not sure but if you did or know, please let me know.
It feels so appropriate today to share this poem, bringing up wonderful memories, our magical river vacation feels like it was yesterday.
Lift Your Paddle
LIFE IS A JOURNEY
LIKE A WINDING RIVER
THE CURRENT CAN BE STRONG….AND THE JOURNEY HARD
WHEN YOU ‘LIFT YOUR PADDLE’
YOU ARE GUIDED BY THE LOVING FORCE OF YOUR FAITH
WHEN YOU TRUST IT…YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING
SO…’LIFT YOUR PADDLE’ AND ENJOY THE RIDE

True! Life is as easy or difficult as we make it..Its all in our mind
inspiring post, thanks Elaine
Another fabulous post Elaine!!! It took me months to realize this….I’ve always been a paddle against the current kind of person….these words will go on my next vision board….Lift my paddle- love it
“Lift Your Paddle” – love it! What a good motto to live by when things are tough. I also like the thought, “Does life need to be this hard, ever?” Sometimes we make things a lot more difficult than they need to be!
Beautiful reminder to go with the flow! Life is not supposed to be a struggle.
What a great comparison. It’s a good reminder for us to sit back and enjoy the ride!
AWESOME post Elaine! LIFE should be all about going with the current…..Abraham always talks about going down stream – I always try to do that.
Someone once said to me that if life is too easy, then you are not trying hard enough. I personally do not agree. I would love to have an easy life.
Hello Lawrence thanks for stopping by…That person who said that to you is subscribing to an outdated belief that life must be hard…it is the 9-5 mentality and I used to subsribe to it as well. Over the past few years on my journey I have learned so much from people who have an easy life in the FLOW. One of the best teachers to date is Michael Losier who wrote the Law of Attraction Book…it is a wonderful guide on how to attract more of what you want…this is truly working and living in the flow.
Thanks for stopping by Dale. I love the teachings of Abraham…this post is all about the Law of Attraction. Allowing!
hello kelly, I love these gentle reminders…and my kids are usually part of the ‘picture’. I love looking back at family moments and the lessons I learn each time.
Nisha, Thanks for stopping by. I love the paddle metaphor. I am guilty of getting in my own way too often and it reminds me to let go.
leanne, I am so excited about all the lessons that you are learning and living. Raise that Paddle girl and enjoy the ride.
Anita, I love that you bring this up. The mind is a powerful tool, use it wisely
I’ve found that I need to lift my paddle a lot more often lately!
Love the poem Elaine, thanks! This is a great reminder that things happen for a reason, and it’s often best to quit fighting and enjoy the ride. I do have to put the paddle back in however when others interfere and try to pull me off my course!
Jennifer, i love the advice of putting the paddle in when others pull you off course. It happens, thanks so much for sharing
Trinity this is a great thing…you are trusting and allowing…Bravo!
Please help, have fought so hard to keep from sinking, not quite sure how to just go with the flow,my umph is all drained out.ready to live life but dont know how to begin.
hello Sally, allowing and trusting are the hardest things to do…they may sound easy but it means giving our struggles over to something outside of us. When we let go of the need to always try and figure it out we release so much of the struggle. We can then out our energy into the things we love to do and allow the joy to come into us. How do I know all this…from losing myself and having to let go and lift my paddle
